We Keep Audio Products Working for Musicians…

as well as the places they perform. We have serviced sound systems, amplifiers, and pianos in churches, auditoriums, hotels, convention centers, studios, nightclubs, schools and private homes.

We are not sound contractors or sound system installers. We know many good contractors in the area that we can recommend to you or your organization.

Rates

There is no charge for warranty repairs.
Warranty terms vary with manufacturers.

Our bench rate is $60 per hour for large power amps, mixers, and digital recorders. It is $50 per hour for tube guitar amps and electronic keyboards. It is $25 per hour for small guitar amps, small keyboards, and small PA systems.

Speaker recones are a flat rate depending on the make, model, and size of speaker.

Our general rule on rates is for the repair charge not to exceed one half the value of a product. We cannot charge more than something is worth.

We rarely charge over $100 for labor unless it is a big job. When we reach the estimated cost, the clock stops running. We give free estimates on everything.

Service calls are an additional $30 per hour and $0.75 per mile (for drive time).

Turn-Around Time

Generally, our goal is to get something in and out of the shop within two weeks if it is humanly possible. That happens in 3 out of 4 cases.

Upon request, we turn many products around within 24 hours at no additional charge if we have parts in stock. This includes same day service, if scheduled in advance. Please note: express shipping can add considerably to the cost of a repair.

Most, but not all jobs, go as planned. If a repair takes longer than the target date (for example, because of more damage than expected or difficulty in obtaining parts), we have been known to cut our labor rates in half or more to satisfy a customer.

Tube Guitar Amplifiers

We do not charge for biasing!

We can normally provide fast turn around on tube amps to due the relatively minor problems that we usually see in them.

The majority of tube amps are simple to repair. To say that tube amps are difficult to repair is misleading. Most are not. Many working musicians maintain and repair their own tube amps with no professional training whatsoever. It is not "rocket science". There is info everywhere about how to do it. We are experts at difficult jobs, repairing someone else’s bad work, as well as modifications.

Power Amps, Powered Mixers, Mixing Consoles

We turn around 75% of solid state products within our two week goal, depending on severity of the problem. If you have a minor repair and need it fast, we can usually accommodate your needs.

Keyboards and Other Digital Products

We keep keys for many digital keyboards in stock and can often provide quick service if you break a key.

Digital products, including keyboards, sometimes require time, dedicated effort, and patience to diagnose and troubleshoot. They are not always fixable. But we always give it our best shot for our customers. We don't charge if we don't fix it. That has been our policy for 30 years.

Many products require proprietary parts that have to be special ordered. In these cases, it is not always a fast turn around. Some major manufacturers do not keep proprietary parts in stock. In some cases, manufacturers do not carry the special parts needed at all. In those cases, our hands are often tied.

Talk to us about your problem. We can always give you some idea of what it will take to fix it before you commit to a repair.

We will not exceed an estimate without informing you first.

Some things are beyond repair. If something has been abused, hit by lightning, has been left outdoors, in a crawl space or attic, been in a fire, or appears to be in very poor condition… in general, the chances of us fixing it are not good. We will not charge you to assess the condition of your product.
